Undoubtedly the world's greatest railway journey, the Trans-Siberian Railway, connecting Russia's mysterious east and west, features on "bucket lists" the world over, but does the journey really live up to expectations?

Dr. Lynne Attwood, a regular guest speaker on the Golden Eagle, was curious to know what had tempted her fellow travellers onto the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express and what were their impressions of the country and the trip as a whole, so she took the time to speak to several guests on board to learn about their stories.

Following Lynne's back-to-back trips between Moscow and Vladivostok last summer, she has compiled some of the fascinating stories of guests on board the Golden Eagle, including their family stories that brought them back to Russia, their pre-conceived ideas of Russia and their overall impression of this world-renowned railway journey.
